Nature and Game Drives:

Game and nature drives across the Plateau and to the top of the Canyon’s rim are offered daily in the mornings and evenings (9:00 and 16:30) when the wildlife are most active. These drives may be booked prior to your arrival at the lodge or at our Entertainment Desk.

Wildlife you are likely to see include:

• Kudu
• Springboks
• Oryx
• Ostriches
• Various other animals and plants
• With a little luck guests may be lucky enough to spot a Rooikat (Caracal)

Arrival at the view point offers guests a breathtaking 360° view and on most days you are able see for more than 250km.

Guided Hikes:

Life in the desert happens on a small scale and to really appreciate it, you have to look closer. The desert truly comes alive before and after the hottest hours of the day, at dawn and at dusk. Our guided hikes in the surrounding areas around the lodge offer you an intimate experience of desert life. This activity may be booked prior to your arrival at the lodge or at our Entertainment Desk.

Fish-River-Canyon Experience Package:

This is a full day excursion in a 4x4-vehicle that takes you through the rough landscape of the Fish River Canyon Plains and down into Canyon itself. This activity may be booked prior to your arrival at the lodge or at our Entertainment Desk. It is also available as part of a Vogelstrausskluft Country Lodge package.

• Costs: N$ 1, 220.00 per person including lunch and all beverages

Fish-River-Canyon Adventure Package:

This is a unique 2 day excursion in a 4x4-vehicle that takes guests to the Canyon Plains, down into the Fish River Canyon, into one of the most scenic side canyons, to a dried up waterfall and to several other great destinations. This activity may be booked prior to your arrival at the lodge or at our Entertainment Desk.

• Duration: 2 days including an overnight stay in a tented bush camp
• Costs: N$ 4, 220.00 per person including an overnight stay in a bush camp and full catering

• The Fish River Canyon Adventure tour must be booked prior to your arrival at Vogelstrausskluft Country Lodge and it requires that you be physically fit.
• This tour is weather dependant during the summer months and may be changed or cancelled on short notice because of extreme temperatures inside the Fish River Canyon

Fish River Canyon Limits Package:

Experience the beauty of the Fish River Canyon on foot and by 4x4 vehicle. This 3 day tour takes guests on a hike from 1 of Vogelstrausskluft’s highest points, over the Canyon Plains, down into Fish River Canyon and into one of the most beautiful side gorges. Further tours by 4x4 vehicle showcase the history and scenic beauty of the area.

• Duration: 3 days including a 2 night overnight stay in a tented bush camps
• Costs: N$ 6.050,00 per person (incl. stay in Bush-Camp and full catering)

Patio and Pool:

The pool and patio area at Vogelstrausskluft, Namibia, is a tranquil and inviting space. The patio and pool deck is made of mahogany and is situated high above the Old Valley, affording guests stunning views. With a beautiful view of a waterhole, guests can relax at the poolside, soak up some sun or enjoy refreshments while watching the wildlife, which are especially active in the mornings and evenings.

Bar and Lounge Area:

The fully licensed bar and lounge area at the country lodge is spacious, offering the perfect atmosphere for mingling, communicating or simply relaxing. It is the ideal retreat during the hottest hours of the day where you can kick back with a drink.

Restaurant:

The Vogelstrausskluft Country Lodge restaurant is open daily to visitors as well as lodge guests. It offers sumptuous African cuisine in the form of breakfast, a 3 course lunch and a buffer dinner.

Library and Reading Room:

The library and reading room is housed in a separate area within the main Country Lodge building. Here you will find a small library offering books on various topics, broadband internet connection and a peaceful atmosphere in which to read. The reading room offers guests comfortable leather chairs, inviting you to sit down, relax and lose yourself in the pages of your favourite book. This room also offers a special view of the Old Valley through breathtaking panoramic windows.

Curio-Shop:

There is no better way to leave the comfort and luxury of Vogelstrausskluft Country Lodge than with a souvenir in hand to remember us by. We have a curio shop at reception that is open daily.

• Drive back and transfer to Vogelstrausskluft Country Lodge

Fish River Canyon Adventure Package:

Itinerary:

• Transfer to the Canyon Plains access point
• Enjoy a scenic nature drive through the Canyon Plains along the escarpment and visits to several stunning view points along the way including "Finger Klip" view point.
• Enjoy a sumptuous bush lunch in the Canyon Plains
• Take an adventure hike through "Donker Kloof" which is 1 of the most beautiful and 1 of the narrowest side gorges of the Fish River Canyon
• 300m descent into the Fish River Canyon in the 4x4 vehicle at the mouth of the Loewen River
• Enjoy dinner under the open sties – a true African braai
• Overnight in a tented bush camp inside the Canyon
• Travel back up to the Canyon Plains and drive to the rim of the Canyon

• Take a hike to the old left Koubis farmhouse on the Canyon Plains
• Spend time exploring the surroundings on your own or to relax amidst the beauty

• Overnight in a tented bush camp underneath palm trees at the old farm house
• Transfer over the Canyon Plains by 4x4 vehicle
• Take a 4 - 5 hour adventure hike through "Donker Kloof", 1 of the Canyons most beautiful and 1 of its narrowest side gorges
• Return to the old farm house camp by 4x4 vehicle
• Enjoy a bush lunch
