Diving with sharks offers you an up-close and persona encounter with these animals and for many it also gives new insight to these feared predators. It allows you to see them in their natural habitat, as graceful, calm and often peaceful creatures.

For the first time, we are offering you the chance to experience shark cage diving in the Durban area without having to be a PADI certified diver. What’s more is that we are offering you the unique opportunity to dive in a soft cage.

Soft cage diving differs from the traditional shark cage diving in heavy metal cages in that the soft cage is more like a “netted pen” from which you can safely observe the sharks in their natural habitat. Heavy metal cages are used in the cold waters of the Cape because Great White Sharks are present. These sharks hunt large, mammalian prey, namely seals. The sharks found in the warmer waters around KwaZulu-Natal are smaller and live on a diet of smaller schooling fish. There are no Great White Sharks present in these warm waters, making it safe to use a soft cage.

Soft cage diving is less intrusive to your viewing of the sharks, bringing you closer to them and they to you. It truly is a one-of-a-kind experience that can only be found off the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
