Sandboarding is the coolest fun ever; you don't need a wetsuit and you don't have to be able to balance on a surfboard. You can't fall far if you do and you have the chance to go all out down sand dunes and just have the best fun ever. Its no surprise people have taken to sandboarding as it opens up adventure activities to many people that never before thought they could do any board sports.

Another great perk of sandboarding is that its so much like snowboarding that if you can do the one, you can do the other. This means if you come from a cold country and visit sunny South Africa, you can switch to sandboarding without a hitch.

Now if you really want to take on one of South Africa's biggest dunes you have to come to Mossel Bay and take on Dragon Dune. Dragon Dune is a ride of 320 metres that will have you on an adrenaline rush for the rest of the day.

What makes Dragon Dune so incredible is of course the fact that it is one of the longest dunes to ride, but also because the prominent South Westerly winds keep the dune in great shape, plus there are no bushes or rocks in the way. You simply keep on going smoothly right to the bottom. The dune is also on private property, this means sandboarders have all the privacy they want without anyone getting in the way. Remember that there is also the option to sit-ski the dune if you do not feel confident enough to carve the dune standing up.
