This is a motorcycle adventure tour of epic proportions. It is not called the Big 5 African Tour without reason; we pack in five of everything as we journey across the Southern African continent on our motorcycles. We camp some nights, we sleep in chalets other nights and we pack in as much fun as possible every single day.

Day 1
Our adventure motorcycle tour starts with us leaving South Africa and we ride through the Waterberg area to the Botswana border and have lunch en route. We cross our first major bridge as we enter Botswana and settle at our first campsite on the banks of the Limpopo River.

Day 2
After breakfast we pack up and ride further north through some of the oldest towns in Botswana and take a lunch break before heading for our campsite in the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Day 3
An early start today as we make for Botswana�s northernmost point as we need to get to our destination by lunch time, which is the boat that will take us up the Chobe River. Good wildlife spotting and photo opportunities today.

Day 4
After breakfast on the banks of the Chobe River we head to an interesting map point; Kazungula where 4 countries come together. We cross into Zambia by taking the ferry across the Zambezi River and after completion of formalities we head into Livingston and our first water mass; the Victoria Falls. The Falls is always a highlight for everyone.

Day 5
We move from one of the wondrous water masses to the next one today and after an early start we aim north towards Lake Kariba. The roads here are good, so we can open up the bikes. At Lake Kariba we settle in and have sundowners and dinner on the beach.

Day 6
Houseboat adventure for us today as we board the Bateleur Houseboat, sail off and go on a tour of a Zambian village. The afternoon is one of leisure on board to be followed by a splendid dinner and a night�s sleep with a difference.

Day 7
We have breakfast on board on the return trip and then we start out on the next leg of our motorcycle adventure tour as we head to the Zambian capital, Lusaka. En route, we cross our first major river, the Kafue River. Our route takes us along the Great East Road as we ride on towards our next camp, which is on the Luangwa River, our second major river for the day.

Day 8
Today we cross the spectacular Luangwa Bridge and the road we follow snakes and twists, making for an interesting ride. Besides the scenery, we will pass through many villages before reaching our overnight campsite.

Day 9
We cross over into Malawi today and our destination is Lake Malawi, one of the most beautiful places on earth. We camp here overnight amidst nature at her best.

Day 10
Today you have the choice of simply enjoying the Lake and visiting the markets or you can go on the arranged boat trip to Lizard Island.

Day 11
We turn our heads due south and point the bikes at our destination; Cahorra Bassa. We cross into Mozambique and, of course, cross the Zambezi River, we pass through small towns and a larger city until we turn off the EN1. The sight of Cahorra Bassa is always awesome even if you have seen it before.

Day 12
Today is a day at leisure for everyone to simply enjoy and for the adventurous there is a fishing boat arranged to try to land some catfish, bream or tiger fish. We might even be lucky and get in a visit to the dam wall if the operator gives us permission.

Day 13
Our motorcycle adventure tour takes us further south today through some spectacular Bushveld and on very good roads; making today a great ride. We once again camp on a riverbank.

Day 14
We continue our tour through some spectacular scenery today and we head for the final of our wondrous water masses; the ocean and we finally stop next to the warm Indian Ocean.

Day 15
We keep heading south along the EN1 and the scenery changes rapidly once we enter Inhambane Province and you see palm trees everywhere. Once we reach Inhambane we park and transfer to our beach accommodation for a well deserved rest.

Day 16
Today is all about the sun, the sea and the beach. You can do absolutely nothing and just relax or you can go on a deep-sea fishing trip that can be arranged or go snorkelling in the Manta Reef, which is absolutely stunning. All gear can be hired at greatly reduced rates.

Day 17
Our route today will have us stop often to enjoy the views and visit the villages we pass through and we pass over the last of the bridges on our list; the Limpopo River Bridge. This is the last night of our motorcycle adventure tour that we are all together so we stay over in a 4-star hotel in Maputo. We have our celebration dinner in a popular seafood restaurant to reminisce over the adventure we have shared over the past 17 days.

Day 18
After breakfast we tackle home stretch and pass through the Ressano Garcia border post that takes us back into South Africa and ride through Mpumalanga until we reach our final destination; Gauteng.
We have packed in 5 countries, 5 rivers, 5 bridges, 5 water masses and far more than 5 unique experiences on the saddles of our motorcycles.
