Kayaking takes you back to a very basic way of getting in touch with these creatures of the deep. It allows you to get close to the water, close to marine life, and more importantly, close to the whales for the ultimate intimate encounter without getting into the water yourself.

Before you skip this whale watching kayaking adventure in favor of one that lets you relax a little more while you view the whales, stop and think about this for a moment. Kayaking takes you back to a very basic way of getting in touch with these creatures of the deep. It allows you to get close to the water, close to marine life, and more importantly, close to the whales for the ultimate intimate encounter without getting into the water yourself.

Marine life is rife in the waters off the West Coast of South Africa, about 150km north of Cape Town. Among the sights and sounds are seals, pelagic birdlife, whales, dolphins and beautiful coastal scenery. The beach camp is set up on the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve beach, not far from Paternoster; a fishing village.
