A kayak trip out to the penguin colony in a kayak is great fun and on the Cape Point kayak tour you have the opportunity to witness something completely unique; a penguin colony literally in a suburb at Boulders Beach.

Based in Simons Town, False Bay, which is 40 minutes drive from the centre of Cape Town

When is the best time to do it?

Throughout the year, depending on the weather.

What do we need to bring?

• Swimming costume or shorts and T-shirt
• Sun protection: sunglasses, sunhat and sunscreen SPF 30+
• Sandals, but not thongs
• Towel and a spare set of clothes to change into afterwards.

We do open-date gift vouchers that you can hand to the
recipients as gifts on a special day. This allows the recipient the flexibility
to make the final booking on a date that suits his/her personal schedule. This
also turns the gift into a “double whammy” gift as the recipient receives the
voucher on the special day and then has the anticipation of going on the
adventure on a suitable date.

Our open date vouchers are valid for a period of 6 months from date of issue;
this is a precaution to guard against price increases only, the value of the
voucher is never lost. Should the participant not use the voucher within that
time period, the value is still there, and if there has been no price
increases, the recipient uses the voucher as is. If after the six months grace
period there has been a price increase, the recipient will be liable to pay in
the price difference only.

Additional information about the Penguin Trip

Once we leave the Waterfront at Simon's Town we paddle past the Naval Harbour and the civilian harbour to Boulders Beach. After our visit with the 'suburban' penguins we have a stop over at a semi-private beach to swim and snorkel and have some refreshments. We provide the refreshments and the snorkel equipment.

We have double kayaks, which are incredibly stable so they are perfect for those that do not have kayak paddling experience. During the whale migration season from June to November you will have an excellent chance of spotting whales as well.

The duration of the Cape coastline kayak trip is 4 - 6  hours and we leave every morning at 10 am. We also have afternoon trips available for groups of 4 or more paddlers.
