Gondwana Game Reserve

Set on 11,000 hectares of dramatic terrain, Gondwana Game Reserve holds the distinction of being the only Fynbos reserve in the world with free roaming big five game as well as endangered species like the Cape Mountain Zebra, Black Rhinoceros and Black Harrier among many others. Its breathtaking beauty will soothe and delight you with its endless mountain views and green rolling hills blanketed in colourful Fynbos. The reserve is ideally and accessibly located in the world famous Garden Route just 4 hours drive from Cape Town and 45 minutes from George Airport.

Activities in the malaria free game reserve include game drives with expert field guides in open game viewing vehicles as well as horse-back safaris, bush picnics, fishing, hiking, mountain biking and bird watching in the reserve’s 1000 hectare protected area. Children are encouraged to join the Junior Ranger’s program while parents enjoy some quiet time or indulge with a spa treatment.

Luxury accommodation awaits you at Fynbos Camp in private bush villas which include 10 superior rooms and 10 deluxe suites (ideal for families) which boast maximum privacy and awe inspiring views from spacious private decks. For the ultimate in exclusivity, the villas can be privately staffed with your own chef, ranger and butler to cater to your every whim.

Fynbos Camp’s main lodge and luxury Kwena Huts are due to open their doors in early2010 and the innovative Khoi San-inspired design provides guests with a 180 degree view of the surroundings, an infinity pool, bush spa, and romantic private dining nooks. The stand-alone huts overlook two waterholes and a beautiful valley onto the Outeniqua Mountains.

Delicious cuisine is passionately prepared by our international chefs. For an intimate and interactive dining experience, private in-suite dining with a personal chef is one of our specialties as well as romantic bush picnics and evening meals in the reserve as the sun dips behind the mountains.

Booking Guidelines for Children:

Children under twelve (12) pay 50% of normal rate, Children underfour are free

A Junior ranger program is inclusive for all children between the ages of 4 and 12 to educate and delight them with the wonders of nature (this includes educational game drives, interactive activities, junior ranger packs and completion badges)

Children under twelve (12) years old must be booked with parents into a suite with the spare bedroom upstairs (cots & rollaway beds are available)

Babysitting is available at a rate ofR80.00 per hour per child

Children from seven (7) years old may join the normal game drives with other guests

Children under seven (7) years old may only be taken on a private game drive on a separate game vehicle at a cost of R1200.00 per vehicle (subject to availability)

In room dinners will be arranged for children under 4 with their parents or with a sitter

Payment/Cancellation Policy:

50% Deposit of the full amount is required 30 days prior to arrival as confirmation.

14 days or more prior to arrival the remainder of the payment is due.

Cancellations:

25% of fee is charged if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.

50% of fee is charged if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival.

100% of fee is charged if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival.
