What's The Deal?

• Full day (5 to 9 hours) offshore fishing charter.
• All tackle and bait for fly fishing
• For spear fishing - guns, boards and wetsuits are supplied
• Food and refreshment.

Where is it?

The charters depart from Simons Town, False Bay, Cape Town.

When is the best time to do it?

The season of the year is the determining factor as to which species we fish for and what type of viewing trip is available.

In season we fish for Yellow, Big Eye and Long FinTuna and all year round for Cape Salmon and Yellowtail. Kob, Dorado and Cape Snoek is also seasonal and Swordfish and Black Marlin on deepsea fishing charters are possible.

Viewing trips for White Shark, Dolphin, penguin and seal is available throughout the year and whale watching is done from July to November during the whale migration season.
Pelagic bird watching is available throughout the year.

What to bring with?

• A high SPF sunscreen, sun hat or beanie (dependant on the weather)
• Extra clothing suitable for the charter
• Camera

Our fishing grounds

We travel between 40 and 60 kilometres out to sea from Cape Point as this is where the water temperature is ideal for tuna, but we fish in colder and warmer waters, depending on what fish species we are going after.

Targeting

To help us target the shoals once we reach the fishing grounds we use the sonar/fish finder to check underwater and we use sightings from looking where birds are diving for fish and also take our beading from other fishing charters in the area.

Tackle

When we do deep sea fishing we carry tackle for heavy as well as light fishing. For large game fish and tuna we use top quality multi-speed reels that are loaded with 500 metres of 38 kg line and our reels have a pre-set drag system. We use rods with roller guides that can handle 50 � 100 lb class line. On our fishing charters we cater to both the experienced and the novice anglers and we assist inexperienced angles to the utmost of our abilities.

The trip

All our fishing charter trips are meticulously planned and we plan around long range weather forecasts for good windows of opportunity and we consult deep sea wind and wave reports as well as the barometer. Our boats can take up to six anglers at a time plus two crew members.
We launch from Simon�s Town and for full day trips we meet up and head to sea between 6am and 7am.� After a full day of fishing we start heading back at about 3pm. We usually stop on the way back at Cape Point to give our passengers the chance to take some photographs to add to their memories of the day. We usually arrive back in Simon�s Town at about 4pm.
