Our vehicles consist of custom built safari minibuses, each seating 7 passengers at a window seat, and 4-wheel drive safari land cruisers. We also offer a variety of vehicles for hire ranging from private saloon vehicles to busses.

We hand pick all of our tour guides as your safari holiday experience is only as good as the guide you are with. All of our guides are experienced, have been thoroughly trained and have a good knowledge of the routes and areas being toured. We also pride ourselves on having extensive knowledge and being able to offer professional, unbiased and 100% accurate travel information when tailor making any safari holiday.

When is the best time to do it?

The best time to undertake a unique safari holiday experience from Crystal Safaris varies according to the particulars of each different adventure. Please check season, weather and climate before booking and ensure that you pack accordingly for country you are visiting.

What to bring:

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Neutral coloured clothing, preferably in khaki, brown or beige
• Long-sleeved shirts and trousers to help protect against the harsh African sun as well as pesky insect bites
• A warm jacket (preferably one that is also waterproof)
• Malaria medication
• Insect repellent
• Mosquito net (only if necessary)
• Sunscreen lotion with a high SPF
• Sunglasses
• Sunhat
• Ensure that you have enough prescription medications to last the duration of your holiday. Also ensure that you have a copy of your prescription just in case.
• Binoculars
• Camera
• Visa or MasterCard credit card and/or traveller's cheques (please note that Diners and American Express credit cards are not always accepted)

Malaria:

• If you are travelling to a malaria area, please ensure that you take these precautions:
• Apply a good insect repellent to any exposed skin
• Change into long-sleeved clothing and long pants for protection as soon as the sun sets if you are enjoying the outdoors
• Ensure that you use a mosquito net if your tent or room does not have screens
• Use insecticide spray or burn mosquito repellent before you go to bed
• Take the recommended malaria medications for the region you are visiting and complete the course
