Seeing the Big 5 is a wonderful item for one's To do list. Being able to do so in Magaliesburg, about an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria is a blessing. Askari Game Lodge is situated in the well-stocked Plumari Africa Game Reserve on 3000 hectares within a malaria free environment. Askari Game Lodge offers Big 5 game drives and elephant 'touch & feed' experience at a fraction of the cost of its counterparts further up north and is within easy reach for day outings, should you not want to stay over. Do consider taking a day or two our of your itinerary to make the most of this unique experience - the 4-star lodge has 30 rooms, a boma for boma dinners, two restaurants, two bars, a museum with Africana as well as a ox wagon collection, all shedding light on the interesting history of the area. Guided walks to view the game and rock carvings are conducted on request.
