The Lodge:
Arathusa offers guests intimate camp accommodation that is as close to nature as you can get. There is a large Boma or dining area available and a swimming pool for all guests to enjoy. Accommodation is for up to 20 guests in total, with 2 guests per thatched suite. Guests are able to send and receive both faxes and emails from the main lodge as well as make and receive telephone calls.
Accommodation:
Each luxury suite offers you an en-suite bathroom with bath plus indoor and outdoor shower. Each suite has a verandah with beautiful views, a mini-bar, a safe for your valuables, air-conditioning, mosquito netting and facilities for making tea and coffee. In keeping with the natural, traditional safari feel there are no telephones or TVs in the suites.
The Activities:
Game drives: 2 daily game drives at dusk and dawn in an open safari vehicle. Close encounters are guaranteed and offer fantastic photo opportunities.
Guided walks: Available with an armed ranger by prior arrangement. Walking safaris are done during the cooler hours of the day and offer you a uniquely different experience.
The Wildlife:
Arathusa enjoys regular leopard sightings, big five viewing and sightings of an assortment of "lowveld" game. Much of the game is visible without going far from the Lodge and birdwatchers are in for a treat as the area is a bird watching paradise.
Where is it?
This luxury Lodge is situated in the northern section of the greater Sabi Sands Reserve, next to the Kruger National Park. It is a 7-hour drive from Johannesburg and 3 hours from the Kruger International Airport.

When is the best time to do it?
Safari is an all year round activity but the game is most visible and active during the April to October winter months
What do we need to bring for Game Safaris?
- Binoculars for game viewing at a distance and a camera to capture all the fun
- Clothing suitable both for a safari experience as well as the season in South Africa
- High SPF sunscreen, a hat or cap and a pair of sunglasses for sun protection
- Torch
- Mosquito and bug repellant

This reserve is situated in higher risk Malaria area, please consult your doctor for advice on appropriate medication.
Children Policy:
Children under the age of 12 years are not allowed unless the Lodge is booked for exclusive use
