Accommodation:
River Suites:
Luxury suites built in the Zulu tradition to heighten the African safari experience. Fully air-conditioned with lounge and bedroom. Bathroom with a bath big enough for two. Separate toilet and shower and all the River Suites have private game viewing decks. All suites have a safe, stocked mini bar and coffee and tea tray and complimentary bathrobes.
Umntwana Honeymoon Suites:
The honeymoon suites are the ultimate in luxury and privacy for all honeymoon couples with everything possible on hand from glass walls to a private bubble pool and 5-star treatment all-round, stocked mini bar, private viewing deck and of course fully air-conditioned.
Ibandla Camp:
The camp is very secluded and in a remote part of the reserve. Each of the two houses can accommodate up to four guests and have en-suite bathrooms. Ibandla camp is seasonal [May to September] and the place for those that wish to experience a closeness with nature and Africa. A tracker and guide are on hand when staying at Ibandla camp to accompany guests on bush walks and game drives.

Game Drives:
For most people that go on safari holidays, the games drives are what it is all about for them. You can go on two game drives per day with highly qualified and experienced guides and every moment during game drives are exciting as you never know what waits around the next bush or corner.
Game Walks:
Game walks and nature walks take game watching to a different level as you are on the same level as the animals you have come to see. All game walks are perfectly safe and you are always accompanied by expert guides.
Fishing Safaris:
Lake Jozini is the 3rd largest lake in South Africa and offers open-air boat fishing safaris that all avid fishermen will thoroughly enjoy.
Relaxation:
You can relax in the swimming pool or the shady and green garden, or simply relax on your private deck and also indulge in a great massage and of course attend high tea to socialize.

Amakhosi Safari Lodge is located in Kwazulu Natal, and is about an hour's flight from Johannesburg.

When is the best time to do it?
All year round is good for safari holidays, but during the winter months from April to October the weather is cooler and animals are more active, so there is an increase in game spotting.
What do we need to bring for Game Safaris?
- Camera and binoculars
- Suitable warm and cool clothes befitting the season and a swimming costume.

- Sun protection as the African sun is harsh: sunglasses, sunscreen, hat or cap

What else do I need to know?
- The location of the reserve is classified as a low malaria area, but it is always best to get advice from your doctor.
- Chauffeur transfers are available on request.
Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcome at Amakhosi Safari Lodge. On scheduled game drives through, children under the age of 8 are not encouraged. The decision to include or exclude such children will be at the discretion of the guide.
