• Please note: Cloud cover on Table Mountain prevents the Table Mountain Abseiling Adventure from taking place, you may have to reschedule

What do you need to bring?

• Camera
• Water bottle
• High SPF sunscreen, sunglasses and sun hat
• Denims or other sturdy trousers
• Hiking Boots
• Shorts, short cycling tights to wear under denims prevent chafing
• Windbreaker and T-shirts

Before you can get to abseiling down Table Mountain, in Cape Town, you need to get to the top first; there are two ways of getting there:
You can take the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain. The cable car is open 11 months of the year, closing for a month from mid-July to mid-August. This mode of transportation leaves you refreshed for the abseil down the mountain. It also offers you a beautiful 360-degree view of the Cape Town area, its surrounds and the coast where land and sea meet and become one.

The second option is to hike up Platteklip Gorge to Maclear's Beacon at the top of Table Mountain with an experienced guide. The Hike will include great views and a chance to get up close and personal with the unique flora and fauna found on the mountain.

Getting to the Cableway is easy, whether using your own vehicle, or taking public transport.The Lower Cable Station is situated approximately fifteen-minutes’ drive from the city centre on Tafelberg Road.If driving your own vehicle, you will see the routes clearly sign-posted on all the major roads into Cape Town .Look out for the brown information boards with directions and make use of the map below.If you use public transport, buses and taxis are available to transport you from the city to the Cableway.

Buses

The Camps Bay bus will drop you off at Kloof Nek. The bus departs from Adderley Street outside the GoldenAcre in Cape Town’s city centre. You can catch a metered taxi or walk the 1.5 km uphill from Kloof Nek to theLower Cable Station.

Taxis

Rikki taxis (www.rikkis.co.za) operate a share-a-cab service with a set fare of R33.00 per person to the LowerCable Station from the city centre, Camps Bay, V&A Waterfront and Sea Point areas. You share the ride andshare the price. They also offer a City direct service from these areas to the Cableway for R75.00 per cab. AR5.00 surcharge is added after 7pm.
