For the intense rush of a downriver experience, the Blyde, Sabie, the Breede and of course, the Orange River are all waiting for you. These are kayaking routes that have been proven to provide the most value for your money so to speak. The rapids are challenging and initially, outright scary. We have professionals who have run these rapids many times and they will instruct you on the correct course of action and the best route to take. For these trips, it would be prudent of you to bring your personal camping gear such as a tent, sleeping bag, water, and all the river gear you require. Do not overload yourself though, as your gear is going to need to make the perilous journey down the river. In some regions, it becomes bitterly cold at night so we would recommend a windbreaker and perhaps a fleecy coat; whichever keeps you warmest.
