Tanzania
Step out into the vast open plains of Tanzania and you suddenly feel very, very small. Tanzania lies on the East Coast of Africa and is situated between Kenya and Mozambique. This is an African country that has been able to bind 125 ethnic groups into a nation through a common language; Swahili. This has helped make Tanzania a friendly and peaceful destination for visitors to enjoy the great variety the country has to offer. Tanzania really has about everything that any visitor could wish for from world famous places such as the Serengeti Plains, the highest mountain in Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro to pristine and unspoilt beaches that beach lovers, scuba divers and anglers cannot get enough of. The Mafia Islands form part of this country as well and here again you have a piece of paradise for weary travellers. There are three international airports, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. You can easily access the country by air, water and by land and this makes travelling to and from Tanzania problem free for visitors. Tanzania offers excellent safari opportunities to visitors that want a holiday centred on nature and wildlife and visitors have a good choice of types of accommodation as Tanzania has realised that tourism is an important part of their economic wellbeing and progress. The people are traditional and very friendly and make visitors feel at home and will show you their way of life and share their music and songs with visitors that come to their villages. This East African country with its tropical climate has something of interest for all visitors. Tanzania is a land of contrasts and majesty, Africa at its most wild and unexplored. There is the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and the sun-kissed beaches of Zanzibar, the vast herds of game grazing on the Serengeti plains and the slow volcanic eruption of Ol Donyo Lengai. With so much natural wealth, it's no wonder that Tanzania has something for everyone...
