KayakingKayaking is a sport that anyone can enjoy. Plus, thanks to South Africa having such an abundance of oceans to explore, sea kayaking is especially easy to enjoy. Choose from an intense experience on the rapids, or a journey around some of the more tranquil spots on earth. We provide professional and knowledgeable experts who will guide you on your travels, as well as full safety equipment and refreshments on the longer trips. For a tour around the harbour or an awesome experience kayaking with whales, you will need to bring a warm top/windbreaker, shorts or a swimming costume, T- shirt, hat, sandals (closed sandals work best), sunglasses and sunscreen. Make sure to include a towel and a change of clothes for after your adventure. The summer months are the best time to kayak, however any day of the year is an ideal day in South Africa (permitting that the weather is not too rough). For the intense rush of a downriver experience, the Blyde, Sabie, the Breede and of course, the Orange River are all waiting for you. These are kayaking routes that have been proven to provide the most value for your money so to speak. The rapids are challenging and initially, outright scary. We have professionals who have run these rapids many times and they will instruct you on the correct course of action and the best route to take. In case of emergencies, know that Adventure Bookings has the expertise and manpower to ensure a safe outcome. For these trips, it would be prudent of you to bring your personal camping gear such as a tent, sleeping bag, water, and all the river gear you require. Do not overload yourself though, as your gear is going to need to make the perilous journey down the river. In some regions, it becomes bitterly cold at night so we would recommend a windbreaker and perhaps a fleecy coat; whichever keeps you warmest. If you do not know what equipment to use, then fear not as we will advise you of the correct tools and equipment to take on your journey down the rivers of South Africa. Sea Kayaking and River Kayaking is an engaging sport and it is great fun to follow the whales and the many paths that wind down the river.
