Sardine Adventure Options
Scuba diving the sardine run
The sardine run is the greatest dive on earth for advanced scuba divers to watch the ultimate bait-ball as the predators whirl the sardines into tight balls and then go on a frenzied attack. Sometimes the sardines can be elusive and shy away from approaching boats and divers. The predators of course are not shy and divers find themselves in the midst of a maelstrom of diving birds, sharks and dolphins that ensures a pure adrenaline fuelled dive.
Snorkelling the sardine run
Snorkelling is the greatest way for non-divers to see the action on the sardine run up close and personal with great opportunities to snorkel with the whales and dolphins. There is of course also the sharks and dive bombing Cape Gannets for those who feel brave enough to take them on.
Photo and Video
The sardine run is a huge adventure shoot for all underwater photographers and videographers and the chance to get amazing action shots of predators and prey. The annual sardine run attracts TV station crews from around the world each year as well as news photographers and magazine crews to be part of this annual spectacle.
