Just in case you are wondering, no, you are not going to ride the dunes like a surfer rides the waves. In fact, a sandboard looks very similar to a snowboard; your feet get locked into place on the board to make sure that you donï¿½t slip off. The base for the board is also specialized so that it actually becomes more and more slippery the more action is sees. This means that a weathered board is actually a better ride than a brand new one. Other than that difference and the fact that the ride is on sand and not snow, there isnï¿½t much of a difference between sand and snowboarding. So whether you are a total beginner to any type of boarding or you have dabbled in the snow before, come and give the sandy side a try, you are guaranteed to have a blast.
