Location
Areena Riverside Resort is situated on the banks of the Kwelera tidal river, 23 km east of East London city centre, which is at the beginning of the Cape Wild Coast.

Quad Bike Game Viewing Trails
A quad bike ride is a brilliant way to do game watching as it gets you so much closer to many of the animal species than if you are in a vehicle and you have a double adventure of game watching and quad biking.
20 minute route
This is an easy trail for beginners that take you on a trip around the grazing spot of the animals.
1-hour route
This trail starts with the 20-minute route and then takes you to where the abseil site is and back. This trail is for more advanced riders.
2-hour route
This trail adds on another hour to the established 1-hour trails and takes you through a section of the property that is quiet with some rough terrain for good quad bike navigation and you also go through a bamboo forest.
What to bring with
- Comfortable clothes that will not chafe or restrict you during the ride.
- Spare set of clothes for if want to change afterwards because you may get grimy and dusty.
- Sun protection: sunscreen SPF 30+ and sunglasses
Additional information
As the resort is only 23 km from East London this allows you to easily spend the day and indulge in the large assortment of other outdoor adventure activities we have on offer.
Paintball
Our natural paintball course can be played by groups of 6 or more.
Teambuilding
We have 10 different outdoor activities that have been designed to promote teamwork within a group and bring out leadership and is suited for people who are not athletes and involves a huge amount of fun.
Obstacle course
This is a great group activity with cargo nets, ropes and poles used to create obstacles that will test your skills of balancing and more.
River cruise
We take up to 25 people at a time for a relaxed cruise along the Kwelegha tidal river.
Abseiling
There is a graded 50 metre abseil site that offers great excitement.
Archery
Great as an individual and a group activity.
Pellet gun target shooting
Metal duck shooting and suitable for completely non-athletic people.
Hiking
Suitable for the energetic
Canoeing
Our canoes are wide bottomed Indian styled and great for exploring the river or you can opt to do a 4km paddle to the beach for a picnic.
