Itinerary - Johannesburg to Cape Town - Overland Tour
Day 1: Johannesburg to Hazyview
Travel to the Kruger National Park where camp is set up for 2 nights.
Day 2: Kruger National Park
Enjoy a game drive across the Kruger National Park, return to camp and enjoy an optional evening game drive later.
Day 3: Hazyview to Graskop
Depart for Graskop where supplies can be restocked and the surrounding Mpumalanga area can be explored.
Day 4: Graskop to Musina
Spend your last night in South Africa in Musina.
Day 5: Musina to Masvingo, Zimbabwe
Depart and enter Zimbabwe, travelling to Masavingo. Explore the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the largest medieval ruins in sub-Sahara before setting up camp
Day 6: Masvingo to Gweru
Visit Antelope Park, 8 km from Gweru where you have the chance to walk with lions. Have close encounters with elephants or enjoy game viewing on horseback.
Day 7: Gweru
A restful day at Gweru
Day 8: Gweru to Bulawayo
Depart for Bulawayo where you can explore the second largest city in Zimbabwe before getting ready for the following day�s activities.
Day 9: Bulawayo
Bulawayo offers exceptional viewing of black and white rhino at the Matobo National park. Spend the day enjoying game sightings and exploring the area, including San rock paintings.
Day 10: Bulawayo to Victoria Falls
Depart for Victoria Falls where you have the chance to plan numerous optional activities to make the most of your stay there and your experience.
Days 11 & 12: Victoria Falls
Once at Victoria Falls the availability of optional activities is almost endless and there is no better way to experience the true wonder of the Falls than from a bird�s eye view.
Day 13: Victoria Falls to Kasane, Botswana
Two options await at the Chobe River camp in Kasane, a sleep-out in the Chobe National Park or a peaceful night at camp.
Day 14: Chobe National Park
The sleep-out group will rejoin the rest for an afternoon Chobe River cruise. A morning Chobe National Park game drive is an option for those not on the sleep-out.
Day 15: Kasane to Maun
Depart for base camp at Maun.
Day 16: Maun to Okavango Delta
Take the optional 3 day and 2 night Mokoro safari into the Okavango Delta or stay at camp and relax.
Day 17: Okavango Delta
Enjoy a Mokoro ride with an experienced local before taking a swim, enjoying a game walk or simply relaxing.
Day 18: Okavango Delta to Maun
Enjoy a game walk before heading back to Maun where an optional flight over the Okavango Delta is available.
Day 19: Maun to Rundu, Namibia
Before heading to the Kavango River and the campsite, a stop off is made in Rundu for supplies.
Day 20: Rundu to Etosha National Park
Before setting up camp, enjoy game driving in Etosha National Park
Day 21: Etosha National Park
Travel 150km across the park for a day of viewing game before camping out.
Day 22: Etosha National Park to Cheetah Park
Meet the resident cheetahs at this Cheetah Conservation farm - Cheetah Park - a 'not to be missed' photo opportunity.
Day 23: Cheetah Park to Spitzkoppe
Depart for Spitzkoppe where you will camp under the stars and explore bushman paintings.
Day 24: Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund
Depart for the adventure town, Swakopmund. Dormitories will provide accommodations but upgrades are possible depending on availability. An activity briefing will take place in the afternoon.
Days 25 & 26: Swakopmund
The next 2 days at Swakopmund can be spent enjoying optional activities at your leisure. Some optional activities include horse riding, golf, quad biking and much more.
Day 27: Swakopmund to Sesriem
The next leg of the overland adventure passes Walvis Bay and enters the Namib-Naukluft Park. At Sesriem, Sossusvlei can be explored with Sossus guides at your side. The day is rounded off with sunset atop Dune 45.
Day 28: Sesriem to Fish River Canyon
After watching the stunning sunrise (weather permitting), we leave the peaceful dunes and head south to the Fish River Canyon - the second largest canyon in the world. An opportunity for some spectacular photos is to be had from a viewpoint looking over the crater rim.
Day 29: Fish River Canyon to Orange River, South Africa
Depart Fish River Canyon, heading towards the campsite on the Orange River�s banks. The afternoon offers you the option of a half-day canoeing experience or a relaxing paddle to take in the scenery.
Day 30: Orange River to Cederberg
Travel south through Namaqualand where flowers are abundant in spring. Camp is located in the heart of local wine farms, offering superb local produce to sample.
Day 31: Cederberg to Cape Town
Depart Cederberg, travelling to Cape Town via Citrusdal.
Day 32: Cape Town
The overland adventure trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town ends after breakfast.
