What we are offering you is a chance to get into the water with one of the world’s most feared predators; the Great White Shark. These shark cage diving adventures are held off Gansbaai, only about 2 hours drive from Cape Town. Gansbaai is located near Cape Agulhas and that is where we go to find Dyer Island. Dyer Island is one of only two area in the world that are unique in that the chances of viewing Great White Sharks are incredibly high. You are also likely to spot other marine wildlife such as African Penguins, Bottle-Nose Dolphins, Southern Right Whales, Cape Fur Seals, Cape Gannets and Cape Cormorants.
To participate in the Great White Shark cage diving adventures you do not need to be a certified scuba diver. You are able to enjoy the exact same interaction with the Great White Sharks using a snorkel as a certified diver would with scuba gear. There is scuba diving equipment onboard the boat for use at certain time of the year, this is included in the costs.
Please note:
Great White Sharks are elusive and skittish and can often be frightened away from the boat and the cage by the noise of the scuba bubbles. On the day, your dive master will advise you of the appropriate conditions.
For those who are not that keen to get their feet wet and would prefer not to get that up close and personal with a Great White Shark, there is an alternative to cage diving if you would like to view these spectacular predators. Surface viewing from the boat is just as much of an unforgettable experience as Great White Sharks are surface feeders and you can clearly see all the action from the safety of the boat.
So, now that you have had your shark cage diving experience, that’s it, right? Well, not quite. You have the option to have your personal Great White Shark encounter captured on film to take home and keep. An experienced professional underwater videographer is on the boat every trip it makes and your experienced both above and below the water are captured on high quality DVD. These DVD’s are available for viewing while you enjoy refreshments after the trip and are available for sale at a nominal fee. Along with the ordering process of the DVD that will be explained to you on the day of the trip there are plenty of extras that come along with the DVD, making at a bargain and an investment in your memories of the experience.
